Alexis Abbott Don't take second guessing yourself as that the work isn't good :) Every author has self doubt, and has to learn to work through that. But there's lots of really helpful groups and information out there on the publishing process :) Over all, you have to do it in the face of it not being easy <3

Tommy Hancock This comment thread came across my homepage at such an insanely perfect time(especially weird when I see the time stamps haha). I'm an aspiring writer myself and am currently 4500-ish words away from finishing my first first-draft(ENGLISH!) of a novel. I've published short stories and comics before, but could never tackle a novel. Why? Because each time I started one, I reached a point where I thought "this sucks!" and decided the next one would be better. And it was, every single time... until it wasn't. Then it was time to start over.

This time I decided I'm not allowed to start over. I have to finish this draft before I can move one, no matter how bad it may suck. And here's the thing... It sucks! Parts of it are so bad I just know they need fixing. But I'm gonna finish, I'm gonna tackle another first draft, then come back and see how much this one really does suck and find out how I am as a fixer.

It's hard. Most would agree with that. But man, I find it impossible to quit.

Sorry for yapping, the words were just needed right now so I had to pop in.

Anna What a shame that your editing does not mean proper research into facts about the military and the way it works.
