I remember going to a Bonnie Jo Campbell signing for Once Upon a River and hearing her talk about the publisher's choice of a canoe on the cover rather than a rowboat (the inanimate main character) and the publisher telling her to go away and write. I did find where the emerald came from, and I'm glad you insisted. Gorgeous red! I love the cut. I had a ring made from my dream stone - violet scapolite which is also totally irrational, but. Rare. Want. And no. Had.
That's amazing! I bet it's beautiful. The next stone on my need list is a faceted transparent Ethiopian opal! To fragil for a ring- but I do love a good pendent.
Yeah- I kicked back the cover a few times. They were outrageously patient with me. But as my kindergarten teacher now infamously told my parents "um, Aja doesn't her 'No' well." What did you find out about the emerald on the cover!? So curious.
