Thank you Michael! We're writing a series of non-fiction; would that make a difference?
Gray (sorry for the previous mistyping of your name...), I'm not sure much changes, other than the obvious - look at previous non-fiction projects and rewards. And then target the publicity and marketing to the constituents of that topic. One key question would be to answer (in the project) why there is a need for funding in advance of publication of the book(s)? There is no "wrong" answer as long as its an honest answer - Spike Lee raised over $1M on Kickstarter for a new movie and he certainly doesn't "need" the money... or so many would say.
