Oh really? I even talked to my girlfriend about that particular scene, and she also thought Taylor's reaction felt personal. It felt personal in a deeply subtle way, and that made me wonder and wonder and wonder for a lot of time. I caught myself wanting to read something - anything - from Taylor's perspective. The fact you didn't do it on purpose reinforces that idea that characters have a life their creators no nothing about.
