Thank you for answering so quickly! I completely agree. It is a terrible shame. It is strange to me that it is the one, large piece of evidence that has been kept so secret. Do you think there is incriminating information in the tapes being intentionally hidden by Jeffco as some theorists believe? I'm not a big believer in conspiracies, but I have to admit being intrigued by them.
No. Plenty of people have seen the tapes (dozens, perhaps a hundred of more), so it's not like the contents are secret. (Conspiracy theorists don't rely on basic logic. :) )
Hey, I just saw this again, and I should have pointed out that there were a lot of copies made--unauthorized, though not nefarious. Investigators just duped copies so they could study them. Those were all supposed to be turned back in, but they actually got more copies than they knew existed. I would wager that somewhere out there in the world, some still exist. Whether these will ever come to light is anyone's guess.
