As a note, while Untangling the Web likely has some really interesting search techniques in there, it's not going to be up to date on the latest search tools and search engine capabilities because it's a decade-ish old.
I have a degree in Criminal Justice but have self trained and work experienced my way to Systems Administrator. That is what I love about IT is that you can train yourself easily with experience, a lab you set up at work, or a homelab you set up yourself
