Kyra Halland I absolutely agree. Writers need to learn their craft. Producing a competently put-together story written in correct prose is a writer's job, and writers should not rely on editors to do their job for them. And you're right; if they do hire an editor, they need to know enough to know if the editor is doing a good job.

Judy Goodwin Thanks! It kills me that some writers expect so much for so little. You wouldn't want someone who had never touched a hammer to just build you a house. They should be prepared for the learning process.
