Hi Susan, I'm a big fan of your Fool's Gold serie too, what about going back in time, when Mayor Marsha was younger then? We all know she had a daughter and that her grand daughter is now living in Fool's Gold... I'm sure there is something you can come up with ;-)
Thanks for the suggestion, Helene. There are a couple reasons why I probably won't do that. One, the Fool's Gold books are written in real time. Two, Mayor Marsha's back story is that she was widowed young, and her daughter ran away and didn't speak to her for many years. So if I wrote a romance for Mayor Marsha, and readers knew the sadness that was ahead of her, I don't think they'd feel confident in her happy ending. :)
I disagree. .i think we can find love at any age..not just the perky 20's..i think you sell readers short with this..
I agree that we can find love at any age, Kathleen. :) In fact, the bride in DAUGHTERS OF THE BRIDE is in her 50s. :)
I realize this Q&A is probably several years old, but I would love to read a romance starring an older character. (Debbie Macomber has done this successfully.) I know at my age (72) I'm not your target audience, but my 92-year-old mother loves your books, too and we would love to see some older characters. Maybe not a whole series, but sprinkled throughout a book or two would be nice.
