What is the significance of gender in an AI anyway? Presumably they are perfectly logical, so of course they are all male. JUST KIDDING!! As for voice or personality, I guess it would depend on the people it interacted with.
By the way, a great example of a female AI (don't know how she got that way) is in David Weber's "Path of the Fury." It also has the most formidable female protagonist ever, Alicia Devries.
Sorry to keep barging in, but I thought you might like to know about the female AIs in Charles Lamb's ALICE series.
