Joanna Elm Thank you so much for your very detailed and helpful reply, Rebecca. I understand absolutely about working hard for traditional publishers. I did the same with two traditionally published thrillers about twenty years ago. Now, after a stint at law school and working as a law clerk for judge, I am returning to writing fiction and can't believe how many options we now have.
I already have Hostile Witness in my kindle. I paid for it because I am fortunate enough to be able to pay for any books I want to read, and so like to support my fellow authors!
I am looking forward to reading it.

Rebecca Forster Joanna, Welcome back! Let me know when new books are out and I'll be looking up your old ones. This is a lot of hard work, I have o say, but I love the team I've put together and now it feels like a well oiled machine. I wanted to let you know about the use of misses ( of corse had to look at the review

Pamela J Rebecca, I am halfway through Book 6 of the Witnss series and especially love this one, so please do not take offense at my next statement. You really need a good editor to read through your final copy. I am a retired editor, and find the mid use of words, tenses, left out words, etc., a bit distracting. I kept looking to see who your publisher was to no avail, obviously because you are now self-published. Things as simple as “affect” and “effect” are often transposed, things a spell checker would not pick up, although a grammar checker just might. You could probably find an independent editor to do a look-through before publishing.

Anyway, I hope I haven’t offended you.

Rebecca Forster Pamela. Thanks so much for the note. I actually do employ an editor. I have been through 3. It is difficult to find one that is affordable and excellent as I'm sure you know. I always am so grateful when readers send me a note with problems and I take care of them immediately. I do appreciate your note very much. Some of the grammar, however, is intentional. I have had people point things out that I left in because my 'ear' wanted it heard that way. Any spelling errors are another matter and I continue to try to improve.
