Hi Lissa: iT'S GREAT NOT TO HAVE WRITER'S BLOCK. i TOO AM BLESSED IN THAT REGARD BUT FOR THOSE WHO HAVE A PROBLEM GO BACK TEN PAGES ON WHAT YOU ARE WRITING AND EDIT LIKE HELL. THIS OFTEN CLEARS THE BLOCKAGE! Sainte Bastien by Lissa is a great read.
That'#s probably a good idea, too. If I'm trying to get in the head of newly-created characters, I often write scenarios that won't figure in the novel, but help to get to know how they think. I generally put them in a difficult situation or an argument, to see how they react and cope. I guess just writing a small scenarion is another way to solve Writer's Block. But really, given your experiences too, is a block just your book's way of telling you it's a bit boring and needs a rewrite and more action? If you're bored and can't think where to go next, that could be a reflection on what has so far been written. So the advice to go back 10 pages and edit is probably the best altogether.
