Thanks Jemina! I have found that North American writing for children is distinctly different from British writing. At the Hay Festival earlier this year I listened to Holly Smale being interviewed and she said that her 'Geek Girl' series for young teens, which is very successful in the UK simply hasn't found a market in the US.
