I agree wholeheartedly! In 7th-8th grade, I devoured books, ranging from middle grade fiction to classics. That freedom to choose stories I enjoyed fostered a lifelong obsession with books that I may not have had otherwise. Even if a novel doesn't have the vocabulary level of a classic from the last century, that doesn't mean reading it is of no value. Have fun!
