p.s. I have, of course, had people post negative things on my FB page or tweet negative comments at me and I find that by respectfully engaging the person, their tone immediately changes and they become much nicer. One of the issues of online discourse is that it's easy to forget a human being is on the receiving end of harsh commentary and when it's two people talking to each other instead of one person angrily yelling into a void, the tone of the exchange becomes completely different. Very interesting!
