Idella Oh yeah, bring the short stories on! For the longest time I blew short stories off since my experience with them left much to be desired. However, lately I have been discovering a great many self-published authors through reading their short-stories ...many by way of anthologies (& Amazon...screw the publishers for they know not what they speak!). Once introduced to these "new" authors (as in new to me) I have gone looking for what else they have written and have been delightfully pleased by my findings. As I am a person that keeps many forks in the fire that demand a wickedly demanding schedule, I have found that short stories have been a great way to get some reading in and enjoy the rest-bit they offer. So please, I would love to see what you can crank out by way of short stories...after all, I am already hooked on your witty perspective and awesome storytelling prowess.

Ivy Tucker I'm so glad to hear you say that. Don't give up! I can't figure out why they are telling you short story collections are dead. They are everywhere on the shelves at the library where I work. Having said that, a lot of them are "genre" based collections, which wouldn't necessarily suit your work. Maybe they could create a "general weirdness and miscellania" genre just for you.:)

Felice I actually adore short stories and I'm so sad that I can't get my hands on a copy of The Hungry Mouth. I hope your publisher will make another short story collection happen. I, and I'm sure a lot of other people as well, would love to read them.

Joshua I'll gladly buy another copy when it gets published. I probably should've kept the original in perfect condition but it's been roughed up considering I took it everywhere and read it over and over for a few months. Now it sits on a special spot on my desk along with a neato Nightcrawler card and several ancient Power Rangers.

Lori Isaac, I always thought that was an odd statement for people in publishing to make too. It seems that over the last few years, small press publishers have been printing MORE short story collections than ever before. Push and get that shit printed!
