I've been aching for those stories, too! I've composed and discarded about fifteen different e-mails to you asking about them and if you'd ever consider sharing the plots if, in the end, there was no way to publish them. I care so desperately about Bridei, his kingdom, and the other characters, too. That's cruel of your US publishers to say no; while the story is one of my favorites, they didn't let you finish telling it. Good luck with everything! I'll cross my fingers.
Can we begin a petition to present to your publisher? I just reread the Bridei chronicles and was quite lost when I was through because I want more. And I am sure there are many who feel the same.
I read this series quite a few years ago and loved them! I believe I wrote to you at the time about writing further books in the series, but I guess your publisher was saying "no" even then. I hope that you are able to write the other planned books in this series if you decide to self publish. I would love to read them!
I just finished the The Well of Shades and I would love to read those books! Please don't give up on writing them one day! And let your readers know if they can help make it happen sooner :)
