The Thief series has been a favorite of mine since I was a kid, and I'm always so tickled when Ms. Bujold mentions the series, too! This will be something to look forward to~
S-Town is amazing. I am on Episode 3. Which person would you say is like Miles? @Anna Phillips? Is it John? Or someone who shows up later?
I think John is. If Miles had been stranded on Barrayar or if he'd become Admiral Naismith entirely and kind of.... surrendered to his mania.

I have found the series good/great enough to be absolutely infuriating.
SPOILER
The fact that the building of Gen and Attolia's relationship almost all happens off page makes it almost Deus Ex Machina, which is never good.
I am almost inclined to search for fan fiction to see if someone has put the budding love story in words.
I will admit my heart did melt a little when the depth of their love was shown in King… especially a wounded Gen's desperate struggle when Attolia faints. There is nothing I like more than loving fury.
