Janice That's so cool. My ancestry is so varied that I call myself "Heinz 57". And according to family stories, I've been told while I was growing up, I have both Native Americans, and African-Americans, in my ancestry --though I've never met any of their descendants...that I'm aware of. Also, I could have some Loyalists in my family background, as I've been told that I have some distinct cousins that live around Toronto, CAN, and that some of my own family had met them.

Kate Douglas It really is fun to trace your roots. My husband did mine--I just got him the Ancestry.com DNA test for our anniversary--I think he's going to have fun tracking all the blood relatives out there!

Janice I'd thought about doing that, as I found it interesting. My adopted Russian nephew seem to be more Eastern European, than Russian.

Kate Douglas Russia is Eastern Europe--my DNA (and I'm half Russian) shows that I'm 42% Eastern European. Everything east of west Germany, Austria, Sweden, Finland, etc is Eastern Europe. (I just googled it to be sure--my geographic skills are sorely lacking!)

Janice That's really amazing. I've always wanted to visit all of Eastern Europe...except....I'd best stay out of Russia. Have a great day.
