Nancy Oooh - did you end up reading Be Safe, I Love You, Gail? If so, what did you think?

Gail Gilmore I did, Nancy! I thought it was very well-written, handled PTSD in a way that encompassed not only how it affected Lauren but the impact on her family and her relationships, and was raw and honest. I thought about it long after I finished it.

Nancy I'm a little jealous of that book! I'm a veteran, and writing about women in the Army, and fear I can't write a story as compelling as that (and I don't think Cara Hoffman is even a veteran herself)! But it is a very good book :) I'd absolutely read another by her.

Gail Gilmore I'm sure your book will be just as compelling, especially since you've lived the experience. Another Cara Hoffman book I read and liked is So Much Pretty. It's very dark, but it's a reflection of things that happen so much more often than they should. It's not for everyone, but it's though-provoking in the same way Be Safe, I love You is.

Nancy I’ll have to check it out! She has a newish one called Running (I think) that looked interesting, too.
