That sounds brilliant - I wish you well with the writing and look forward to the reading!!
Thank you! I hope it goes smoothly (I've got to get it written by the middle of October, which doesn't give me much time!).
That sounds great. Looking forward to it. I'm currently reading the last book in your Northumbrian trilogy and enjoying it very much.
Glad to hear it...mind you,I still have a little pousse-café, Oswiu is on my to be read list.Good luck with your new project !
I hope you will enjoy Oswiu when you get the chance to read it - do tell what you think of it if you have the time.
I am thrilled to hear this! I love your Northumbrian trilogy, and was just telling some others how much I hoped you would write a book about/around Alfred, as there is so little about him and his time period, when it was so essential to English history (and arguably Western - dare I say global?).
Thank you! I hope you will like the new book - it will be very, very different from the Northumbrian Thrones. The 'hero' is a sort of early Medieval Flashman whose only redeeming feature is that he knows perfectly well that he has no redeeming features! I wanted to write something in a different vein after the Thrones, yet continuing with the discipline of commitment to actual historical events and people. Let's hope it works!
That will be interesting! Antihero, or simple villain? You danced close to that with a few of your Northumbrian characters - I applaud your willingness to challenge yourself!
