I wasn't aware of your acting background until just now upon seeing your bio here. However, the dialogue in your books is so intensely rich that is makes perfect sense to me now how you can write dialogue so well. The stray away from first-person in The Secret Place did not detract from the incredible dialogue at all. Loved the book and all the others before it.
Have just finished in the woods, great writing Tana will need to read the rest of your books now
This may be the key to the way each character feels fully realized....you are in character for each voice. I'm hooked!
I was interested to read that you have a background in theatre-- your excellent dialogue is a testament to it. :)
