Thanks for your support, Y.A.M, and for taking the time to comment on my 'entry' in the "horror story in two sentences" Goodreads quiz.
Alas, while all my titles were available in the KDP Select/Unlimited programs (in every available marketplace), giving exclusivity to Amazon resulted in disenfranchising readers on other e-reader platforms (Sony, Kobo, Nook. iOS etc) and for very little additional return. I made a conscious decision, therefore, to make my books available on 'other platforms' and (hopefully) a broader readership base, since the difference between an outright 'sale' and a 'borrow' on Amazon was only a matter of a few cents on royalties.
The brutal truth is, since 2013, it's become a tough world for Indie authors, and the 'horror story in two sentences' is, sadly, a work of non-fiction.
FYI, to save you refreshing my blog pages, I don't imagine Book 4 of The Six Concentrics will be available until well into the New Year, possibly around March 2018. Hope that helps!
Thanks again for your support, it's much appreciated. :)
Thanks for the clear (and good) answer, this does make sense - I was unaware about the exclusivity requirement.
I suspect there is a pool of indie authors who do very well, and then a large number who don't do as well. Typically frequency of books (think a book every 2 months) and ability to promote seem to matter the most, more than quality of writing. Looks like you are more likely to have a die-hard readerbase than a mass following :)
I usually give it 6 months between your books, so I will look for the next book around March/April ;)
Thanks for your writing, despite reading thousands of authors, there are only two whose works I feel are truly worth refreshing a page for (the other being Steven Brust)
Brilliant book 4 and worth the wait! This series has now outstripped the other 2 in sheer feeling and uniqueness of plot and characters.
If you ever consider setting up a Patreon account, let us know. I would love to contribute there and make your task of writing easier and even more a pleasure.
Hi Y.A.M,
Many thanks for your kind words! I always welcome comments and reviews; I get so little feedback from readers I sometimes do succumb to the traditional artist's bouts of angsty low self-esteem... all part of the job I suppose!
Thanks also for pointing me towards patreon.com, I honestly hadn't heard of them before and have already spread the word to some musician friends of mine. I'm in the middle of preparing annual accounts for the tax man at the moment, but will certainly investigate further when the 'business' side of authorship is done and dusted for another fiscal year.
Glad you enjoyed Quarlo's Curse, and thanks again for taking the time to say so, it's much appreciated. :)
Hi Y.A.M, many thanks for the nudge towards patreon.com. I've set up a page there now! You can access it at:

There, patrons will find 'A Dictionary of The Longsword Chronicles', which I used when writing the series (and as a reference for The Shi'ell). Thanks again!

Would be great to see your books pop up in the recommended section on the Kindle app, instead of refreshing your blog here/Amazon every week...
