Blaise Ramsay I'm doing all I can on social media. For next year I have four book events I'll be attending and have submitting ARCs for beta readers to offer feedback on. I do plan on doing pre-orders in February since the book isn't scheduled to release in April. Hopefully with all of this running I can get the book out there. It's just a ton of work. I do plan on doing print format through Createspace, Lulu, and possibly IngramSpark as well. The ebook will go up on Amazon. Does it sound like I'm doing things right so far?

Misty Hayes It sounds like you are ahead of the game. My only other suggestions are to get involved with blog tours and blitz blog tours-set up as many author interviews as you can. There are websites dedicated for these blog tours that you can find online. Just make sure you do your research about them before signing up. It is a TON of work, and that's why a lot of people opt for traditional publishing. The key it to set up a budget and be prepared to do the leg work. Hope this helps!

Blaise Ramsay It's plenty of help. I tried traditional publishing and believe me it didn't turn out well. Don't I know it's a ton of work. It's one reason why I'm not dishing out books like a typewriter. Lol. Taking some time to build an author platform and gain some support and of course, refill the bank. You have been a ton of help. I've looked into guest blogging as well but blog tours a whole new thing for me.

Misty Hayes So sorry to hear traditional publishing didn't turn out well for you. I definitely think us authors (and avid readers) should stick together. If you need some extra beta readers let me know. Wish you the best of luck! Also, another thing I could probably suggest is setting up a website (if you haven't already) and adding a mailing list for those who are interested in updates, news, and giveaways.

Blaise Ramsay I actually just got the website up and running with that nice little email pop-up for subscription. I looked up the blog tours and came across Lola's site. The prices seem nice and she offers a free book cover reveal as well. I haven't figured out how to use mail chimp yet. It's kind of confusing to me. So far I have almost eight beta readers and will be going to Half Price on Saturday to inquire about an author event. I do have a question, one event I'm going to is in March but the release isn't until April. The pre-orders for the ebook will be available but what are some good promo items to take to the events to get some interest. Yes us authors, especially indies have to stick together for sure.

Misty Hayes Vista Print is my go-to on promotional material. They are cheap and have a lot of different options available. Sounds like you have it all in hand to me!
