That is so interesting! Did you use your experiences as a more general inspiration, or do you have specific experiences in your book that you've pushed in new directions?
A healthy dose of both! For the most part, I would say my life is more of the general inspiration, because beyond the general premise and location, the majority of the book is made up, HOWEVER, every confrontation or uncomfortable interaction regarding the MC's race is something I have personally experienced.
