Thank you for answering my question. I first came across the word 'dove' , used as the past tense of 'Dive' when I was reading Larry McMurtry's western novel, 'Lonesome Dove', so you I think are correct saying that it originates from American English. 'Lighted' still sounds incorrect to me but I now understand in which context it could he used.
