Elizabeth This sounds like a fun conversation. Should we add fuel to it by asking if Markham will eventually have the opportunity to raise a boy or a girl. Personally I think he needs twins, fluffy girls so that there are three of them looking at him askew when he does something absurd.

Sami My apologies for causing trouble. I am a novice tea drinker and my solution to the milk problem is to not add any. I am also a Latin teacher which is a big reason why I love your books. Well, I admittedly read your response during one of my classes. I laughed out loud and frightened the students. I had to explain that was my happy laugh hahaha. My "I'm about to give you something difficult to do" laugh is mwhahaha. It didn't make them feel any better.

MaxMaxwell Well, not only have I wondered the very question of what kind of tea, but I have also pondered the crucial question: loose leaves or “tea in bandages,” i.e. teabags.

Carro Speaking as a keen tea drinker, mostly of varieties that don't appear in supermarkets - get them from an online retailer - now I've spotted this conversation it has highlighted to me that I've totally not noticed any jostling at St Mary's with regard to tea other than strength and volume. Maybe I've missed it, but not seen anyone demand a slice of lemon with their Earl Grey, or argue Darjeeling vs Assam - rather assumed they were a bit builders tea. However, all this has tweaked my imagination and I am now wondering about a trip for everyone to the Georgian era when the nobility all had their own blends of tea (and snuff) and Earl Grey came up with his blend and it was a great honour to be invited to try their tea. Or equally Max at a Japanese tea ceremony, delving in her pocket for a cunning sachet of sugar she hid there earlier from the hotel......:D
