Gabriel Woods There are millions more 'small' pleasures in life then there are prestigious pleasures. According to Maslow`s Hierarchy of Needs in order for a person to self-actualize - to be successful on every level of life - the person has to acquire the basics in life and there are more aquisitions needed to move up to the top. Just to summarize his book on this theory!! Maslow found that very successful people, the people that are emotionally and psychologically healthy as well, had a strong love of life and a deep appreciation for everything in their life. One example would be the old adage "Your health is your wealth." When regaining good health after serious sickness many such people do not take anything in the world for granted and this gives much satisfaction from the seemingly insignificant experiences. I receive most of my ideas for my books when I take a rest from writing which is hard me to do as I love to write. There`s nothing like staring at a fabulous sunset and afterwards the satisfaction of typing the bones of an entire chapter into my mobile!!

Caroline Farrell I used to writer every day. I was working fulltime and time was always an issue - so I forced myself to make time. However, now that I work less, I can also make time for what you describe, Gabriel - watching the sunset or just being silent with all my blessings. This also allows the brain to percolate, which ultimately helps with writing down the bones!

Gabriel Woods Yes I agree! I write 'the bones' because I like to enjoy wherever I might be. I could be elsewhere too on the bus or in a cafe which I enjoy too!. I love the mental rush a latte produces in me!!! So I might write a few sentences of my ideas for a chapter which I later expand when I sit to write. The notes are as I see it 'the bones' and then I 'flesh them out' meaning I add the detail and then a chapter is born to my great delight! Well, everyone has their own writing process I think
