I also really like this view of writer's block, by Joe Bunting, which I just ran across this morning. Your work "is not about you." In other words, think about writing as a selfless act for some future reader or readers who will be touched, moved, motivated, activated by what you have to say. It's a gentler way of saying, "get over yourself." Think of the kids!
