Thanks for the thoughtful answer! It's so interesting that she is often driven by vengeance in the early mythology, but in the later stories she's had a change of heart and advocates for trial by jury instead of eye-for-an-eye or honour killings. It seems to be a common theme with gods that they soften their attitudes to humanity–Zeus and Jehovah are two others that spring to mind.
