Thank you for explaining that! I need to re-read the Iliad again since its been a while! The "Achilles Heel" legend is also something that kind of gets stuck in memory and hence I was almost waiting to see whether it would turn up in the book too! But the reference to the wounds on the heel do make perfect sense considering this was set ages ago.
Idea (obviously inaccurate and probably bs but) : Patroclus was Achille's heel (weakness) and when he died, so did Ach.
