I read your entire series for the first time shortly after escaping an abusive relationship. They were the first books that broke me through my depressive book-ennui, and have remained my absolute favorites since. Komarr was a difficult read for me too, but also cathartic. Thank you for that.
I have heard, over the years, from a startling (to me) number of women who report a similar experience from the book. Neither you nor the OP are alone in this.
