Trish R. Wow! I would never have thought a woman would prefer a hero who's supposed to be an alpha, big and strong, macho, whatever you want to say, to sound like a girl. That's unbelievable! But thanks for answering my question so quickly.

Nancy Herkness You're so welcome! I thought it was a very good question.

Heather Trish I'm with you on the narration piece. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and I like when the narrator"fits" the character. I always did wonder about the GPS voice as well!! Very interesting!

Nancy Herkness Heather and Trish R, how do you feel about having two narrators-male and female-within one book? I'm very interested in your opinion.

Trish R. First of all Have you listened to the narrator of CEO Buys in? When the hero talks it sounds like a girl? I can't believe women want to hear that. But, what do I know.

Anyway, in answer to your question I love 2 narrators as long as they can both do the male and female voices. Unlike Amy McFadden and Sebastian York. She can do a man's voice 95% of the time but he can't, and doesn't even try, to sound feminine. He has a wonderful reading voice but he reads without emotions.

I recently listened to A Gift of Ghosts by Sarah Wynde and the narration was the best I've ever listened to. She did ALL the female voices and he did all the males. Truly awesome. They were Sarah Grace Wright and Tristan Wright.

Most of the time, for some strange, they'll have 2 narrators but they both do both voices so I can't understand why they'd have 2 narrators.

There are females who do a perfect male voice, Ashford McNab, Kirsten Potter, Angela Dawe, Mary Jane Wells and just recently Brittany Pressley. A couple of months ago I gave her 2 stars on Her Last Word but she did Cut and Run and she just wonderful. When people keep telling a narrator the suck eventually they start to listen. Some don't.

Nancy Herkness Wow! That is indeed weird to have two narrators but have them do both male and female voices. You're right: Why bother to have two if you do that? I really don't understand it.

I wish I got to audition my narrators but my publisher usually sends me one short clip of one narrator and tells me that's who it's going to be. Obviously, it costs more money to have two narrators and I haven't reached that level of sales yet. But maybe someday....

Thanks so much for your input. It's been quite fascinating.
