You're so right about Oxford. I've got a daughter living there now. She loves it, but the place makes me feel uncomfortable !
Is she a student or does she work there? It does make a difference to how you feel about the place. My younger daughter got her degree in Bristol and loved her time there. She then took a job in Oxford ... hated it and got very depressed. She's back with us and working locally now - and liking it a lot better.
