That's amazing! I absolutely think you should give it a try and you are right about it taking different amounts of time with different projects. I think the biggest challenge was really capturing the voice of my main character, Kallie. I really wanted her to be like a real person. Someone you could really imagine yourself being friends with and I really want readers to connect to her. I would constantly edit things she said or read them out loud just to see if I found her annoying or if I could relate to her myself.
I have similar thoughts about wanting my characters to likeable, and i think wanting them to seem like real people is really good advice!
I think i will give NaNoWriMo a go, even just on a lesser scale to start with. Thank you so much for answering my questions! :D
