How do you feel about the isolation of the residency?
I love it! At Ucross I would have breakfast with a fellow resident who got up early, so I got some social interaction right away; I often took later-afternoon walks with another artist friend, which was so great after hours of solitude. And dinner with all the residents is fun and definitely welcome after a long day of working alone. Residencies can be intense, but they're temporary and the trick is to remember that and take advantage of all that TIME!
