Hi Andrew. It will probably be this time in 2021 if things go really well.
The New Magic was and continues to be heavily pirated. As a result, it didn't generate the income that we need to produce a book that I'm comfortable standing up next to the rest of the series. at least, not in the amount of time I expected. It will probably take the rest of this year just to get the capital together to do the editing. It could take an additional year to generate the necessary capital to finish and launch it.
In the meantime, I've shifted fire to Book I of the next series--same world, different characters--which my agent will be shopping to trade publishers. If it's picked up quickly, you might see it in 2022.
I can't stress this enough: if people had actually bought The New Magic instead of stealing it, Book III would have been out by now.
At this point, it's possible this first series will remain unfinished until it's picked up by a major publisher.
Oh man, that is such a bummer to hear. I long for the good ole days of paper books.
