If I had access to time travel I would go to pre-WWI Vienna & get Hitler a full scholarship to an art college as war from Europe as possible, say in Australia or New Zealand. I would next derail Lenin's sealed railroad car to prevent him from returning to Russia from exile in Switzerland.
I'm going to have to look up these books.
