The world of the five gods currently encompasses three novels with three different heroes, and seven novellas with a single hero (Penric). The four heroes have different ages, sexes, and personalities, but they all seem to me congenial and admirable in their different ways.
Of all your characters, I too have a special fondness for Caz. I would love to visit with him again. Then I think on what trials would be inflicted on him, and I think not. He has earned his life away from the direct attentions of Goddess. She can be b*tch. ;-)
I would recommend also reading the other books in that series, Paladin of Souls and The Hallowed Hunt.
