I see you're a pantser just like me. It's much more exciting letting the characters throw surprises and come up with ingenious solutions, than decide the outcome in advance and somehow get your characters to conform to this outcome. I've read somewhere that the great master storyteller Stephen King is a pantser rather than a plotter, so we're in good company.
