I am very proud of you - I dragged myself to AA when I was 23 and went to Sandals Resorts twice with my husband and did not succumb. I just quit smoking on January 18 and am reading an Allen Carr book called "Easyway" which is apparently a huge success - he has also written one for weight loss which has been my lifetime failure - I have lost 48 pounds but gained 10 back when I quit smoking and have another 110 to go and I'm 53 years old so its hard - I will pray for your continued success in sobriety - the hardest part, which you touched on with Cord, is that other people in those situations just assume everyone drinks when they are offering their champagne and whatnot and people that weren't really your friends in the first place just don't get it- you actually have physically remove yourself from it just like with any addiction -gambling, smoking, bad relationship - but its hard when people don't get it - my father told me I was being selfish because I was spending all my time at the Alano Club-we just have to love ourselves enough to go on without those people
