Bobbi The Josephine Trilogy is one of my favorite books, I can't wait to read about Hortense!

I just downloaded Shadow Queen on my kindle, your only book I haven't read. I can't wait! Thank you for answering.

Sandra Thank you so much, Bobbi! At this point, it looks like my novel about Hortense will be coming out in the summer of 2018. Books take a long time! Enjoy the Shadow Queen!

Sue Todd I can't wait! I am a huge fan of your work and the Josephine Trilogy is my favourite. To me she was a historical caricature, an appendage of her famous husband, so I was astonished to discover her fascinating life. Your books ignited a passion about Josephine, Napoleon, and the period of the French Revolution and led me to research more about her. I was so inspired that I’ve written and illustrated a YA graphic novel about her life, being shopped around now. It is definitely a passion project! I was fortunate to visit beautiful Malmaison a few years ago and Fontainebleau is next on my list whenever things reopen. Just wanted to thank you for the inspiration!

Sandra Dear Sue, Thank you so much! I'm delighted that Josephine has captured you. I know the feeling! Good luck with your YA about her. How thrilling. I love your illustrations. Again, thank you, and good luck! Cheers, Sandra

Sue Todd Thank you, Sandra! I look forward to your novel about Hortense. She is an intriguing character and I'm sure I'll learn much from your story. You do impeccable research.

Sandra Writing Hortense's story (The Game of Hope, now out btw) was a revelation for me—her experience of the Terror and Napoleon was surprising. As to my research, I'm blessed and cursed with stubborn curiosity—the wide availability online of texts both old and new doesn't help. I'm now working on a YA about Princess Elizabeth Tudor and I keep falling into the rabbit holes!
