[close] This group is open to anyone who wants to join and agrees to our Ground Rules. This group is specifically aimed at providing continual accountability and opportunity to learn and unlearn what we know about systems of oppression. Topics are largely non-fiction but can include various topics, such as, race, activism, intersectional feminism, nationality, immigration, ability, policy change, socialized values, law, privilege, allyship, etc. This group is a BRAVE space, as safety cannot be guaranteed. Participation is "challenge by choice". However, there will be gentle encouragement and accountability provided by this community, particularly for embracing uncomfortable conversations in the spirit of learning and growth. Acknowledging a brave space is critical when learning about identity and discussing privilege and oppression. A brave space is inclusive to all races, sexes, genders, abilities, immigration status, and lived experiences. A brave space allows individuals to express themselves, challenge one another in a positive way (call-in vs. call-out), and learn from one another. Priority for reading / discussion material is placed with authors of minoritized identities.

[close] A group designed to bring attention to the fact that America desperately needs rehabilitation and in some states money is already available to build these projects/shelters as well as provide all the money required to get people started with work and school and find housing. It focuses on the material standards that separate us all from each other and what is actually required as part of society's normal every day functioning and how easy it is to give people a step in the right direction. Emphasis on community action and people helping people helping people and getting the people to help with what they can to provide a way for another man to reach his goals by enabling him only so far as to give him the resources needed to do just that starting with something as simple as a job and food and clothing. We can do this. With or without government aide. Wouldn't it be better if the people just came together and regulated themselves in such a way that we no longer needed the government to regulate those monies and such but, it would flow freely..? Come on, people.. stop trippin' about the groceries. And the rent. Band together with even just a couple cents a day and you'd be surprised what we can do. AMEN!
