[close] The purpose of this club is to read and enjoy the wonders of literature! Most books will be fiction and non-fiction novels written by African or Caribbean authors, and/or set in those contexts. Interested? You're in the right place.

[close] This is a book club for Nigerians who want to read more Nigerians and African fiction novels.

[close] The aim of this group is to broaden the horizons of avid readers past the much publicised Western authors (not that these aren't great, but a) representation matters, and b) the time has come to use literature as it was intended, to experience other worlds) by recommending books written by African authors. A lot of the canon in this regard tends to be literary fiction or poetry, and while these recommendations will also be welcomed, it would be appreciated if this group could also highlight contemporary lit, fantasy, horror, etc.

This group is open to all people who would like to group-read books that meet ONE OR MORE of the following criteria: - The book author is born in an African country - The book author lives predominantly in an African country - The book location is in an African country I would like to focus predominantly on fiction, but will share a biographical book every once in a while. The plan is to tackle one book a month. Sometimes, I like to throw caution to the wind and have two books by the same author in a month. After the end of each month, I encourage readers to engage in conversation regarding the book and leave their personal reviews, even if a one-liner :)
