[close] QUEER BOOKTUBERS TALK ABOUT QUEER BOOKS TOGETHER! A group of BookTubers who refer to themselves as "The Pride" have created this group to be a SAFE ZONE for all LGBTQIA+ BookTubers and Readers to read books together and be able to feel safe while voicing issues about homophobia, heteronormativity, and misrepresentation. However, more than that, it's a place for queer BookTubers and Readers to be able to read and have fun and let our hair down, knowing that within this group we are not a minority. Notes: We use "LGBTQIA+ and "queer" interchangeably. The "A" in "LGBTQIA+" DOES NOT stand for Ally. You MUST answer the challenge question in order to be admitted as this group is ONLY for those who identify as some form of queer. If you do not answer you will not be admitted.

[close] Launching on the 50th anniversary of LGBTQ+ Pride (June 28, 2020), District Deviants is a new DCLA book club dedicated to reading about LGBTQ+ history, culture, and fiction. Moderated by Meg Metcalf, DCLA President 2020-1 and Women's, Gender, and LGBTQ+ Studies Librarian.

[close] Representation is important, and everyone deserves to see themselves within the pages of a book. This group is dedicated to finding books that depict people of all sexual orientations and genders and making it easier for everyone to read about characters and from authors that they can identify with.
