[close] A group for discussing books, recipes, etc, for Coeliac sufferers. Coeliac disease (pronounced see-liac) is not an allergy or simple food intolerance. In fact it's an autoimmune disease, where the body's immune system attacks its own tissues. In people with coeliac disease this immune reaction is triggered by gluten, a collective name for a type of protein found in the cereals wheat, rye and barley. A few people are also sensitive to oats.

[close] I've been interested in saving the world from day one. So when i found out my grandmother had Diabetes Type 1, I wanted to cure that, too. As an English Major, I didn't know what I could do to help the cause. However, here on goodreads, I can meet and discuss books with other like-minded people and review for the cure!
