[close] The time of the previous Avatar, Avatar Aang is over. After bringing peace to the four nations, the Avatar settled down to start a family of his own. However even the Avatar cannot escape time, and he, along with his companions, have passed away. To honour the Avatar, a city was built in what used to be the Earth Kingdom, known as Republic City. It's been seventy years since the Battle of Sozin's Comet, and the world has changed with it. However, the time for a new Avatar has come, and with the dark threats from the Equalists looming over benders heads shows that the battle for peace is far from over.

[close] After the 100-year war, the world has become a much different place. Avatar Aang and the Fire Lord Zuko have turned the western Earth Kingdom land, previously colonized by the Fire Nation, into a more technologically advanced city - Republic City. People from all walks of life have immigrated to shape a culturally diverse society from all the Nations. Since then, there have been unsuccessful attempts to reunite the Northern and rebuilt Southern Water Tribes. The closest one turned into a civil war led by the invading North's chieftain Unalaq, who used his knowledge of the spirits to bring ultimate darkness and chaos through the Harmonic Convergence, but was soon stopped by the Avatar. Now, both people and spirits live together. With he Air Nation revived, the Red Lotus terrorists assassinated the Earth Queen and now, Kuvira- a metalbending soldier - has come forward to unite and seize power over the Earth Kingdom and all its former territory- including Republic City.
