King, Simmons, McCammon, Koontz, Straub, Barker, Lansdale, Matheson, Campbell, Little, Bloch, Saul among many other horror luminaries will be read and discussed here. Think 70's, 80's and 90's paperback horror, what I like to call Backpack Horror for those tattered pulpy paperbacks that we would cram a few pages in between classes. We are a friendly and inclusive reading group with a focus on horror hits and hall of fame authors. We read and re-read some of the modern classics that have powered this wonderful genre, have fun and thoughtful conversations about them and their place in the literary and cultural consciousness. We will also be an ambitious and innovative group by pushing the boundaries of what typical "reading groups" do, check out our Buzz Project for one such ambitious project. We will be looking for our members to think outside the box with suggestions on other creative projects. Final Note: As you may able to tell I am a rookie moderator who is learning on the go so I am open to suggestions on how to best guide this group. Also as a person who always is looking to provide the best tools and environment to its users, any innovative and creative suggestions on how we can make this as fun and informative place to be as possible will be welcome. Remember, this is not MY group, it is OUR group and we should be here to have some fun, now lets go read some horror.
