[close] UVI Libraries has started a book club which will meet virtually every other month. We will discuss books which are both interesting and relevant to people in the Caribbean and the Caribbean diaspora. We welcome participants from outside the UVI community and we hope to share thoughts and perspectives in a lively discussion. Questions which interrogate the books’ themes will be pre-determined by the librarians. We plan to collaborate with various departments in hopes of garnering student and faculty engagement.

[close] This group will feature books written by Caribbean Authors and books that are Caribbean themed. Please feel free to recommend books, even if it is your own. Please take note of the rules as you go forward.

[close] We read and discuss fiction that raises social consciousness with regards to race/ethnicity. We also use non-fiction works as a supplement to expand our understanding of the topics touched on in the novel we're discussing. You don't have to be "woke" to join the group, but all members should be willing to read and respectfully discuss the (sometimes touchy) topics at hand with the aim of greater understanding.
