Unofficial companion to the best online meta-list of the best books ever: The Greatest Books (thegreatestbooks.org)
We think that, given limited time on planet Earth, it is best to focus our reading effort on the books at the top of these two meta-lists (
fiction
, and
non-fiction
), as that is as close as one can possibly get to the “objective” best of universal literature. We have come to the conclusion that there are not many good reasons to invest precious time in reading yet another instalment of the latest trendy epic saga, or that much-promoted “groundbreaking” essay — at least not until one has read first
