[close] Haven Lake. Calm, serene, glistening with dewlike morning stillness, waves gently lapping on the shore. A quiet place, it appears to be near the end of summertime, the last warm vestiges of sun and sand fading into the faint chill of autumn. Like a wheel, spinning constantly, the seasons shift with grace, easing into each new experience with an almost supernatural, breathtaking beauty. So practised, so accomplished in their tasks, the changing seasons hardly seem to give any warning before they are upon us. As fall approaches, the brilliant green hues of summer metamorphose into beautiful burnished bronzes, striking yellows, and blood reds. Tiny creatures scurry about with the shivering foreboding of the winter to come. Though yet to become frantic, every aspect of the wildlife of Haven Lake seems to be closing on panic; gathering food securing a brood, or finding a calm, sequestered spot to rest themselves in the icy months to come. The residents at Haven Lake grow in number each day, and each new arrival adds flavor and variety to the community springing from the foot of Mount Eyrie.
